Earlier today, Milo Yiannopoulos resigned from Breitbart. In his statements, he claimed “The decision was mine and mine alone”. However, there were reportedly discussions yesterday about his future there.
From the Washington Post:
By late Monday afternoon, there were ongoing discussions at Breitbart about Yiannopoulos’s future at the company, according to two people familiar with the organization who were not authorized to speak. Inside the newsroom, several staffers made clear to senior leadership that they felt uncomfortable and may decide to leave if he stays, the people said. There was also an aggressive liberal campaign to get advertisers to quit Breitbart News.
It wouldn’t come as a surprise if he was forced to resign. Either way, this is going to be a huge hit for both Milo and Breitbart. It seems as though they used to him to help push their agenda (getting Trump elected) and cast him out when he he was no longer useful. Breitbart gained a massive following due to Milo’s ability to appeal to a new audience. I think they will lose a good number of those people. Milo’s fans seem to be sticking by him. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for both Milo and Breitbart.
